Which teammate is likely to incur the most fines this season? What fine will be their undoing?

Faye [Hannaford] has the most money owed for fines with all her red and yellow cards! Though Steph [Harrison] gets megged a lot.

Which teammate is most likely to pull out of a team night out at the last minute (or go home first)?

Think [Charlotte] Markham is mostly like to go home early from a night out!

You reach the County Cup final and it goes to penalties. Which 5 players hit the spot kicks?

For penalty kicks I’d pick, Chloe [Evans], Summer [Dutton], Markham, Ellie Coade and Jaime [Quinn]. (Definitely not Faye it would end up in Scotland).

Who do you not want on the opposing team at training, and why?

I wouldn’t want Andy on the opposition team at training, his team always wins!

Who would be in your ultimate Newhaven Ladies 5 aside team, using current squad or coaches?

Annie [Hills], Jess [Mead], Jamie, Chloe and Georgia Sandell.

Which teammate tends to have the worst opinions regarding football?

Summer and Markham have the worst football opinions for sure, being Liverpool fans!

Which teammate do you think is most likely to become a coach or manager when they finish playing?

Lucy [Collinson] and Steph are most likely to become coaches as they are closer to retirement!

Nine in nine has us dreaming

Newhaven 3 Roffey 1, SCFL Premier Division match #36 Football. It’s a funny old game! Had you told anyone following our Boxing Day defeat against local rivals Peacehaven that there would be anything riding on the return fixture, then you would almost certainly have found yourself certified. Yet, here we are, just under four months on, with a match as potentially important as any Haven Derby in recent history. The winners will go into the last day of the season with at least a mathematical chance of still reaching the play-offs. For the losers, though, any such dreams can probably be extinguished. That the Dockers find themselves in such a position is thanks solely to a frankly astonishing run of nine-straight victories. Goals galore as Dockers win again

Newhaven 6 Lingfield 3, SCLF Premier Division match #15, Saturday 8 th November 2025 Having bounced back to winning ways with a win at Lancing seven days ago, Newhaven hoped to keep the run going with a match against another team at the wrong end of the table yesterday. However, as is often the case when we seem to face strugglers, Lingfield had played themselves into a bit of form last weekend, winning 2-1 against play-off contenders Bexhill United. And it was the visitors who made the perfect start yesterday afternoon, taking the lead inside the opening minute. Needless to say, we only had ourselves to blame, as a loose pass was seized upon by Deven Reid-Solanki and the skillful winger made no mistake, driving forward before finding the bottom corner with a calm finish. Reid-Solanki was to cause us numerous problems throughout the afternoon, giving one of the best individual performances I’ve seen from an opposition player at Fort Road. Defeat but promising signs for young Dockers

South Park Reigate 2 Newhaven 1, FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, Saturday 2 nd August 2025 What a difference 12-months makes. This time last year, the Dockers went into the new season among the favourites for promotion having brought in a string of high-profile (for the level) names. Alas, for one reason or another, it was an experiment that went wrong quite quickly, and one that has prompted a complete rethink on how best to approach the new campaign. Fast forward a year, and we enter the 2025/26 season with rather less of an idea of quite what to expect. To describe the current squad as youthful is probably understating things. Aside from Lee Robinson and (the currently injured) Bailie Rogers, the next most senior member of the team in terms of experience is Ryan Blunt, at the age of just 20!
